Emerson's shoes

Emerson has a pair of hand me down shoes that she loves. They, I'm sure, were very cute at one point in time. But Emerson for all she is girly is a little bit tom boy too. She likes to run, climb, and dig in the dirt. So her beautiful treasured princess shoes lost their sparkle and were dirty and dingy.

SO I decided to try to fix them. I wiped them down and let them dry then painted them with some modge podge and covered them in glitter. Emerson let out an audible gasp when she saw them so I guess she liked them!

"One last thing," I said to Todd. "Have you ever run into a big guy with a scar on the right side of his face? Glass eye?"

Bowholder

I actually started this last year, but Emerson didn't like it, then she drew all over it, so I put it away and sort of forgot about it. She recently found it and decided that she liked it so I repainted it and staple gunned some ribbon on it for her. I think she likes it, I think it's okay. I ended up covering her E in glitter. I saw some paint that had glitter in it and thought it would be cute. Yeah, NO, it ended up looking dirty. But, I think the silver glitter is cute, it added a nice touch, and doesn't look dirty

Homecoming Parade

Looks like I skipped homecoming parade when I was talking about all the homecoming stuff the other week. For some reason our parade is always on Thursday afternoon, I'm not sure why but I guess they do this to coincide with the carnival that comes to town that weekend. Emerson ended up going on the float with the boys, so I found myself with an unexpected hour of alone time. For the first time in a long time I was by myself and I really enjoyed it. I took a leisurely walk in the 100 degree weather and enjoyed it because there was nothing there but ambient noise.

Our State Fair Is a Great State Fair...

We headed out to the Great State Fair of Texas on it's opening day.  We figured it was the perfect day to go, Craig had already taken off work because the previous day was our homecoming parade and peprally.  I love the fair and the kids had a blast. Emerson got kind of grumpy towards the end and threw her shoe out of the stroller and we didn't know until way later. Upside - it was a free shoe handed down from her cousin, Rachel. There is still quite a bit of things I want to see so hopefully Craig and I can go and have a date day/night out there.[gallery link="file" columns="2" orderby="ID"]

Ethan and my other boys made it into the local paper

During (most weeks) of our football season the local paper writes up a small article about the youth football games. This week my baby got his name in the paper too!!

3 and 3

I'm working backwards to talk about some of Ethan's football games. Saturday was an exciting game. Craig was very worried about how this game was going to turn out. We are in a very small association so we play each team 3 times before going into the playoffs. The first time we played the Pitbulls we won by 1 point, the second time we lost by 2 points. Last week, Craig went up to the field to get reimbursed for some purchases and saw that the Cowboys and Pitbulls were tied at close to the end of the 4th quarter, 26-26. So he thought it was very possible that we would lose to the Cowboys, giving them their first win of the season and he didn't want to do that. To make it a little more stressful, he was missing he two offensive coaches, which meant he would be out on the field the entirety of the game.

Our boys had a great game! They really pulled together as a team and we couldn't have been more proud. Ethan had his best game so far. He threw a touchdown pass and pulled 2 flags. Also, he came about 6 inches from scoring an extra point.[gallery link="file" columns="2" orderby="ID"]

Homecoming Game

For the first time ever I missed one of Ethan's games. I hated to do it but I was pretty sure that being there and puking would be far worse. I'm not sure how the game went, our team lost by a touch down.

Homecoming Garter

Ethan's garter. Our sport organization put a limit on how much we could spend on each garter. The step father of one of our players works at Hobby Lobby and they were so nice to make us garters for about 5 - 6 times what we could pay. They looked so nice, I love it.
