Ethan had his first soccer “game” today. It was so nice to be the parent of a kid who was participating and not screaming, crying, and trying to run off of the field. It was super windy and dirt and dry grass were blowing all over the place and Ethan hates to get stuff in his eyes but he was such a trooper. I felt bad for having Emerson out in all the wind but I was able to put the tail of my wrap over her head so she slept through the whole thing and didn’t get hit by any debris. Also, for the first time today I had someone ask me about my wrap. How it worked, where I got it, and what age child would it hold. I was so excited, it was a very nice change from the weird looks that usually get shot my direction.

During naptime I finally got around to painting Emerson’s room. I felt so bad not having the room done before she was born. Maybe now we can start blowing and going and get it done quickly.

Yesterday we wanted to take Ethan to Boo at the Zoo. He also had team pics for soccer, I was convinced we could do it all and still have fun. UMH maybe a little but not so much.

We got up early hit WalMart by 8 home by 10. Okay need to leave for Boo at the Zoo at 11:30. By 11:15 Ethan is in costume ready to go, I’m dressed, picnic lunches – packed, got his stuff for soccer everything is ready to walk out the door. Wait where’s Craig? He’s decided to paint the hall bath. Umh yes something that I really want done but is this really the right time? I tell him its almost time to leave. 11:40 where the hell is Craig? Oh there he is getting out of the shower. UGH!!! In the car by 11:50 get to the zoo change Ethan’s nasty diaper and get into the zoo at 12:30. Great now the rush is on, we wasted 15 minutes trying to figure out where the Halloween stuff is set up before looking at the map and realize that the other side has all the info we would need about the day. So we head over to the Cat Green. We visit the booth with 2 police officers and get their autographs, LOL!! Then we went to the fire fighter booth sans firefighter and pick up some pamphlets. Then to the finger printer sounds like a good idea so we do it. I was shocked that Ethan didn’t pitch a fit but he let us do it. Then we head off with our 6 coupons for treat stations and get some candy. Much to daddy’s disappointment Ethan decided that he needs a bazillion packages of smarties. SO by now it is 1:20 so we sit down eat our lunch super fast and head outside to soccer pics. Out of the zoo parking lot by 1:45. We rush to the soccer fields for pics look around and over hear Coach Rick telling someone else that they are cancelled and won’t be until next Sunday. What??? Doesn’t that warrant a phone call? We could have stayed at the zoo and watched the magic show, Eddie Cooker concert, or listened to story time. I’m so bummed that Ethan had to miss those things for nothing. On the other hand I was happy that people realized he was dressed as a golfer.

Umh, maybe. I think that the back bedroom/computer room/Emerson’s future bedroom is now about half way empty. Crossing my fingers I hope that it will be completely clean by the end of the month. It has been such a pain and I have 3 very large stacks of books that I have no idea what I am going to do with.

We’ve made 3 trips to Goodwill and have sort of made a semi noticeable dent in the garage too. I wonder if they take pool tables? That would rock but I know from the back of their donation records that it says not to bring in large items and I think that would definitely qualify. Maybe one day when we get everything cleaned up I’ll drag it out into the drive way and beg people to take it.
